I've been going and working at the Museum for several years now as part of The Festival of Trees. The staff and volinteers really goes out of their way to make this event a awesome one every year. But the museum also has many other exhibits throughout the year that have been awesome as well. I look forward in spending... More

We stopped here over the Labor Day Weekend and were very happy we did. It was a slow day as I believe everyone was at the beach and we were very lucky to be shown around by Anatole. It was very generous of him to share his knowledge with us and we thank him for his tour. This is a... More

Been here a couple different times on school visits. For a little museum they do a great job offering differing exhibits. Their festival of tress during Christmas time is great!

Located on Route 1, Portland Road, in Saco next to the Library, this gem of a museum has much to offer. Photos and artifacts from the eighteenth century are always in abundant supply, The special exhibits that are compiled each season are masterfully organized and profoundly informative. This a small, intimate museum with ever changing displays. Rooms are set in the 19th century on the second floor. Some nice antique pieces are on display on the first floor. The staff is very helpful and friendly and eager to answer questions. The Christmas tree display during the holiday season is a must see. A small donation is requested.

The Saco Museum, an integral aspect of the Dyer Library; it is the essence of history, presented in the raw... real history; in a way that makes you feel like you were there! I have come to admire and support the Saco Museum and Dyer Library, because the collaboration makes history come alive with an emphasis on time and the... More

There are several full length portraits done by John Brewster, a deaf itinerant painter who worked in the mid 1800s. Magnificent! The museum is very small but it has some very wonderful items in its collection. There is a huge set of Spode grey/brown transferware to die for.

This place is filled with so much information for its size! Bonus, the big gallery switches out exhibits every 8 months so there is always something new.

On a rainy day, we were at the Saco Library when the librarian suggested that we stop by the museum next door. As luck would have it, we stopped by just after 5PM and discovered that there was no entry fee that evening. We saw a wonderful exhibit of Victorian times, including furnishings of all rooms in the average home,... More

For a small museum, the Saco Museum has a lot to offer. The special exhibits are unique and well-displayed, and the permanent exhibits are interesting. The museum shop offers old and new books, as well as unique gift items.
