We have been coming here for years - it's a picturesque beach experience. Gorgeous beach, very civilized and diverse - yet peaceful. The locals are great - very welcoming. One of the best beaches in Portland!

Amazing to see the difference between high tide and low tide. Several rocky outcrops with small tide pools. Wonderfully fun waves! Neat to stay in evening and watch surfers after 5 pm. I like that the surroundings are beach cottages and not hotels.

Great little beach mostly clear of pesky tourists. Nice waves and in a cute neighborhood. Love going here.

We loved walking on this clean, quiet beech! The huge tide made it a completely different experience every time we went.

A great afternoon in early April cycling was well worth it! Beautiful beach and lots of activity. My only drawback is it's Maine and the water will be cold all season long! Brrrr. No parking either. So cycle or walk in and enjoy the beautiful...More

Higgins Beach is one of the best beaches in the area for long walks all winter long. At low tide it offers acres of hard sand and accessible low rocks with tidal pools to explore. Even in winter the little paths from the street are...More

Always worth it!! Be sure to check the HigginsBeachWebCam.com before you head to the beach to check the tides. I checked the webcam last night and saw this sunset happening so I quickly went to the beach with my camera.
