Love visiting this memorial, it is so very well put together and maintained. Every visit I learn something new about the Liberty Ships and WW11. Portland now Bath has such a rich ship building history. It comes alive here

This memorial has a great summary of how South Portland was reshaped and greatly contributed to the war effort. There are some great pictures of how the location looked during World War 2. It’s worth a stop if you’re nearby.

This open air museum is interesting. Learn about the ship building history and the people who lived in the area and helped build these amazing ships.

The memorial is in Bug Light Park, kind of out of the way. If you are a history person do not miss it. It tells the story of how Portland built so many of the Liberty ships during WW2. the photos are amazing!

The memorial is part of Bug Light Park and if you go there it is a nice added stop. If you have a connection to the Navy or are a veteran it is a nice stop in itself.

This is part of Bug Light Park. The picture you see is the actual bow section of a Liberty Ship used in WWII. If you like history this is a must see. This is where the Liberty ships were built. Without them we would not...More
