A great way to spend a few hours exploring the Maine coast on a sunny fall day. Our captain, Karl, loved his boat and enjoyed explaining it's history and the waters around us as we sailed the area from Somes Sound to Cranberry Island.

We had a great time! The boat was excellent and so much fun - way better than the Margaret Todd. It's very cool to be able to say that you sailed on a boat built in the 1800's and used originally as a lobster boat. There has been some remodeling to accommodate more modern day usage but that's to be... More

Captain Carl is the young, experienced owner of the beautiful Friendship Sloop the "Alice E." It was a lovely 3 hour sunset cruise sailing the harbor. He showed us lighthouses, beautiful homes along the coast & various islands. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and was a wonderful tour guide. I would highly recommend Captain Carl... More

We had a nice time on our 3 hour tour on this sail. With 6 people maximum it was private and smooth sailing. We had a great time.

My husband and I enjoyed a three hour sail on the Friendship Sloop the Alice E. Captain Karl, who is also the owner of the company, was a delight to sail with and entertained us with stories of how he became such a skilled and knowledgeable sailor and why he started his now 14 year old company. We sailed on... More

My wife and I took a three-hour private sail on the Helen Brooks and thoroughly enjoyed seeing Acadia from the water. The wind wasn't terribly cooperative for much of the time, so the trip was more relaxing than usual, which was fine with us. We had plenty of time to check out the islands and homes. The boat is large... More

Were lucky enough to get a last minute spot on the sunset sail for Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Ryan, our "captain" was wonderful - very friendly and knowledgable. This is not a "tour" - no constant narration of what we were seeing - just a lovely sail in the harbor to see the sunset. And it was perfect. On... More

Upon querying the bartender at dinner for info on a sailing adventure, we were encouraged to board a Sail Acadia sloop. The experience was perfect. We glided past Mount Cadillac and the islands enjoying blue sky, puffy clouds, and a gentle and cooling breeze. We nibbled on cheese, crackers, and apples with travelers from Peru and Arizona. After spending several... More

Captain Carl, the young, charismatic proprietor and crew of the Friendship sloop Alice E, is experienced, competent, and a great conversationalist. The sloop is stable, impeccably kept, and classically beautiful, mainsail, staysail, and jib. She also sails easily. The cheese, seasonal apples, and crackers hit the spot. And the head (sheltered toilet) was appreciated.
