Such a quiet and peaceful trails

It offers stunning panoramic views, challenging and varied terrains, idyllic pond walks and no crowd. Loved it.

I have hiked all the trails in Acadia over the years. This one is on the quiet side of the island. Not a busy trail but if you want alone hiking, this is the trail for you.

We opted for the trail along the pond and then up to the summit. We were rewarded with a beautiful view of the distant bays and mountains. Plenty of wild blueberry bushes along the way.

Spent a lot of time hiking on the various trails that start and end by Long Pond. Challenged by the Perpendicular Trail (affectionately known as the stair master). The great pond trail is a nice out and back, but also leads up to the Mountain Trail and many options to loop back.

A good walk, some steep parts on the Razorback Trail but the group aged 8 to 75 managed it well, ~ 2 miles in a couple hours. This is a little out of the way of the major tourist area of Acadia and so parking is not a problem although finding the correct road took a little doing. It was... More

Although we didn't finish the full path around the mountain we did love the views, the quiet, and cool shaded path. The breeze was very strong on our trip so layers were good to have on. There were many places to sit on rocks and enjoy sun, openness of Long Pond or a picnic. Terrains change often so sturdy footwear... More

You will appreciate this hike even if you are not an avid hiker. There are about 4 trails up Mansell and the views from the top make it well worth the effort.

Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the scenery and fresh air. Stretch your legs out on a beautiful, well marked trail. Gotta love Maine!

Avoid the crowds of the eastern side of Acadia and slip into an empty parking lot to enjoy a beautifully designed trail up the Perpendicular trail to the summit of Mansell Mountain. You will be rewarded with a great view over the mountains, lakes and coastal towns to the east as the rays of the sun illuminate the topography. A... More
