Wells Beach, ME is my favorite place, a place that helps me rid myself of the stresses of life. The beach is perfect for walk (less it's high tide), family friendly, just awesome.

Wells Beach is one of my favorites. Clean, family beach. No a lot of seaweed, huge beach to spread out, except at high tide when the beach dissappears, so check a tide chart first! Parking is limited , so get an early start.

We stopped by last weekend for a brief visit. The parking attendants were chatty and helpful. We had a great time walking along the beach. There is plenty of parking as well as a public bathroom at the Drakes Island beach.

I don't know what the official rules there are regarding smoking. I have seen a few people smoking there, including the lifeguards.
Where is the best place to park to access the jetty area at Wells Beach?

There is a municipal parking lot (fee) off of Island Beach Rd. Follow walking path to jetty/beach area.
