Two people recommended the Schoodic peninsula as an alternative to the Mt. Desert section of Acadia National Park. They were correct as there were no crowds or traffic to deal with and we spent a leisurely few hours driving around and exploring. I took the...More

We took the steepest route to the top. The east trail. About 1 mile round trip. It actually was pretty steep in places but very doable. Watch out for low branches. I smacked my head. Decent views from the top

This is a great afternoon hike with the benefit of Berry snacks along the way. What a view of Flanders bay!

A challenging (at least for a pair of 75 year olds) hike, rocky and steep in places. Lots of mosses and lichens. Because it is heavily forested it was comfortable on a warm day. Great views at the top which we felt we earned.

Great hike and pristine swimming location at Schoodic Beach. Hike to the summit first, then down to the beach. Hike is very safe. View is great

Schoodic mountain was a great place with great views! The park was easy to access and it was nice, because in wasn't really busy like the bar harbor side.
