I want to start by saying that the park rangers here are SO helpful. During our trip to Deep Creek this week, we ended up visiting Swallow Falls three times and another park once. On our first day in Deep Creek, we loaded our three...More

The falls were amazing. Some easy hiking and some difficult hiking. Would have like to stay longer and enjoy more. Walked most of it and return to car with toddler. Some hills and Rocky paths. There was a picnic area and gift shop with drinks...More

There is a fee. The fee for out-of-staters is higher than for MD residents. We had a gret tiem watching kayakers go down the falls.

This is one of Garrett County's best attractions. Great hiking. Some of the trails were damaged during Hurricane Sandy, but they were cleared enough to get through without interrupting too much of the natural beauty. The falls at Muddy Creek are 56 feet high...and can...More

This park is extremely well put together and a marvel of nature. I look forward to coming back in the winter. The path runs along the river which is great. There are so many fallen trees and rocks but they don't impede the trail, they...More

I'm lucky to live across the street from swallow falls. No matter what season it's beautiful to take a walk. If you just want to sit a while there is an area by the waterfall with lots of seating. Very peaceful and scenic

You can rent kayaks at Herrington manor, that park is 5 miles away from swallow falls. We asked last weekend and the cost was 8 for an hour.

I seem to remember we had to leave the dog in the car, in her crate with windows all cracked.

Great place for walks, hikes, and to see the falls. There are many different paths through the area. It will give you plenty of different vantage points to view the falls.
