It seems counterintuitive to go to Cape Cod and go somewhere other than the beach but Nickerson State Park is a wonderful contrast. Tucked inland, this beautiful park has its own lakes with kid-friendly swim beaches and places to picnic. Although we were there on...More

Nice park with beautiful views of a pond which has a small beach. We liked walking around. Parking was plentiful off season. However, beware of snakes! None of them are venomous but if you are afraid of them avoid the pond / beach area. We...More

What a beautiful and peaceful place to camp and hike. We loved it here and plan on coming back as often as we can get a reservation! My three children loved everything about the park and camp site. Our site had plenty of room for...More

Nickerson State Park is about 2,000 acres including 5 freshwater ponds, beautiful woodlands and a bicycle trail throughout. It is lovely in every season-- a great place to camp, walk your dog, fish and swim. The staff is friendly, informed and laid-back. I have lived...More

This is an awesome oasis in the middle of Brewster! We bring our kayaks to fresh and salt water locations all over,Brewster. Our favorite place to paddle is Cliff Pond in Nickerson State Park. It's quiet and undeveloped. The only company you'll have is fishermen...More

We packed a lunch and headed to the park while staying in Brewster. It was quiet and secluded. The sounds of birds and fresh smell of spring made for an enjoyable lunch, along with the company of my wonderful wife!

My experience with Nickerson is in seasons other than the crowded summer. Every fall for the past 10 years, my family takes a hike around one of the lakes and then drinks hot chocolate. The campgrounds are lovely and there's enough to check out to...More

Year-round hiking in this beautiful place , Kettle ponds and woods. Lots of Nature and Wildlife. One of the few places on Cape Cod where you can actually get lost which is a plus.

The State did not answer this question except to say there were repairs and cleanup they had to do.
Can you tell me if there are any sites for trailers with direct access to a pond?

There are no sites directly on ponds. You have to walk down a trail to them
I've read a lot of reviews and many say that some sites are fairly private and others are not. Can anyone provide insight into the best areas that will give more privacy? I'm hoping to have a little more room for the kids to run around. Thanks!!!

In general the sites away from the water and further out are larger and will be more private. Check out areas 6, 6x and 7.
