I can't give the mill and museum much of a review because it was closed when we got there. We were, however, able to take a pleasant walk around the pond (next to the building). We also took a short walk along the stream that goes from the pond to the bay. We saw some shad in the weirs that... More

First, a disclaimer. We didn't visit the museum (it was closed). We primarily went there to walk a bit and take some pictures. Well, it's important to know that this is not a working mill; there is no water turning the wheel. There is a stream nearby and fairly heavy growth along a pathway so there really wasn't much to... Stop by in the summer on saturdays between 10-2 to purchase the best organic ground corn meal in America!

We went as 3 adults and a 3 year old when it was closed after the herring fish were done running and still enjoyed it. The sound of the water...the fragrance of the flora ... the calm beauty of minnows and bass basking in the warm sunlite pools was so soul-nuturing. Free and worth the trip. Please note - trails... The museum was closed but it was fun to hike the grounds and follow the mill stream as it winds it way towards the bay. We picked up a few small sticks from the ground and placed them in the stream and cheered them on as they raced downward.

Would love to see the herring run but our timing wasn't right. Regardless this is a very pretty little stop to walk around the stream ( both sides of the road). If you're in the area it is just a short little stop -add it to the itinerary.

We walked around the grounds a bit and took pictures. Nice photo opportunity, but it wasn't officially open for the season.

While not a major attraction, it is a nice place to walk around for a few minutes and take photographs. I have heard the herring run is a site to behold, but I have yet to see it. The parking lot is small, so get there early.

This was a beautiful stop and great for photography. Look for the schools of fish in the pond! Make sure to check out both sides of the road.
