We loved staying over in the caboose. It was comfortable camping with our own bedding. Not luxurious but comfortable and clean and cozy. Loved hearing trains in the night! Host was very friendly and showed us around the museum a bit and loved talking history....More

It's great to see a building as historic as this so well-maintained, and clearly so well-loved by Dave, it's caretaker. We were driving through on the way to walk the Keystone Arches trail and stopped to have a nosey around (knowing that it was closed)....More

We happened upon this while looking for the Old Chester Jail. The hours listed are April through September so we planned to walk around the grounds and look in windows. Dave, the caretaker, lives nearby and saw us walking around. He and his dog Durango...More

This museum was once the actual train station in Chester rescued from demolition by those concerned with the history of Chester. It contains lots of memorabilia from the bygone days of train travel. Dave Pierce, the museum director, is incredibly knowledgeable, and friendly...a great docent!...More

Train museum jammed with historical pieces. Run by a very knowledgeable gentleman David Pierce. He was helpful. Large area for picnics. The children were thrilled to be able to climb in and around real trains. Close to train tracks behind a fence so was safe....More

This cool little stop was brought to my attention by Rob Larkham, a former volunteer first responder here for 25 years. The history and exhibits are of interest to even non-train lovers I'd guess. Me, I'd rather rides rails than drive any day.
