Easy and beautiful

Quick stop with beautiful views of the gorge. Good place to walk a little, just be carful of slipping when wet.

Now here's a little known and fun factoid of New England geography - you can visit two different river gorge natural attractions called Chesterfield Gorge in a single day, one of them in rural Massachusetts and another about 61 miles northeast in rural New Hampshire. Just to add to the confusion potential, they are both located off state route 9,... More

Very pretty gorge with rapids. Confusing trail layout but good views from rim of the gorge. Trail was hard to figure out how to get to the base of the gorge.

One of the best kept secrets in western Mass. Give yourself plenty of time to follow the east branch of the Westfield River. It's a dirt road but not a traveled road so there's plenty of elbow room for walking, biking, horseback riding, running and a catch and release fishing area. Very picturesque for the photographer in all of us.... More

This way a great place to visit with the Fall foliage. It was beautiful! Easy hike with the Gilbert A. Bliss State Forest nearby to lengthen your hike.

Love to let my pups off leash to romp in the river here. Can be very congested with people at times.

This is was a nice walk. The trail is well kept and managed. It would be a lovely walk in Autumn. The trail is not a difficult walk. Where it may be a bit difficult there are rails to help. It is not a long walk for big time hikers. It is a good walk for the young and the... More

I visited the area with a friend. We went all the way to the barrier at the end and climbed down the rocks. Messed around/took photos. Then we looked for a way into the water with easier access. We surrendered our bodies to the frigid rapid water. Be careful! You could easily get pushed down the gorge to who knows... More
