We knew we would be walking the beach in the rain but it was still gorgeous, waves crashing as the tide came in. Partway down the beach is a rock tree with multicolored rocks placed on the branches of a huge driftwood tree. Made for a delightful walk.

I was amazed how beautiful this beach was. There were sandbars you could walk out on to that felt like you were standing in the middle of the ocean. It was totally unspoilt with clear water.

Eastham, Massachusetts boasts another popular beach known as Coast Guard Beach. The beach gets is name from the now decommissioned Coast Guard Station that bears the same name. Today, the station is used as an environmental center for the Cape Cod National Seashore. Thoreau visited here and then called it the “Great Beach”. The Nauset Marsh is located behind what... More

I'm from California so I know beaches : ) When I visited a friend who owns a house on Cape Cod she wanted me to fall in love with the Eastham area. Coast Guard beach was definitely one of the top sites. I walked for an hour and got to the next beach but never to the end of the... More

Coast Guard Beach is an exceptional ocean side beach in Eastham. There is a shuttle, from the Nauset High School parking lot, to get you there in the summer, Well worth it.

A reputable report by Dr. Beach ranked Coast Guard Beach to be one of the top 10 US beaches in 2015 and 2016 consecutively. Old Coast Guard station is up on the hill where the cliffs go into the beach. There are lifeguards serving in high season. There is a small parking lot next to the station but it is... More

Quiet at this time of the year but excellent for walking the great stretch of beach and striking up a conversation with the permanent residents who live year round. You can even park at the beach instead of taking the beach tram from the main parking lot. Water is very cold so unless you are a seal, forget about going... More

This is the most pleasant walk. Waves, surfers, bright skies. It just doesn't get any better. This is the serenity walk even during the winter.

located one mile from salt pond center. Parking is located on a more elevated spot so need to walk 1/4 miles from the parking lot to beach.

This is a gorgeous, clean beach. Don't let the tram aspect put you off. I use a cane and I was not sure if I could negotiate the route on and off trams but it was simple and easy. Belp available from Rangers. Not a long wait between trams. The beach is accessible. There is a very sturdy, ribbed mat to walk... More
