Originally the Edgartown Methodist Church, it is now home to a performing arts center. The church was build by Methodist whaling captains in the Greek Revival architectural style. It was constructed using the same techniques as those of whaling ships. In addition to functioning as a performing arts center, lectures, concerts and films, it is also used for town meetings,... This church has been wonderfully preserved and is easily accessible from the street. Brings you back to days gone by. A must stop.

Beautifully restored, it takes your breath away. From walking up the steps through its columned facade to the sanctuary inside, you feel as though you've been transported back in time to a period long lost but thankfully not forgotten.

You will see the oldest house on the island, a beautiful home and the church. All gems and tour lasts about 30 minutes.

Hi, I live in Edgartown, where this church is located. It is a beautiful building! It was built by the Methodists, not the Mormons, lol. It hosts many different events during the year, weddings, concerts, etc. Nice place to stop into while you are exploring Edgartown.

Although this building no longer functions as a church, it is used for meetings to discuss key events such as the budget and other matters involving Edgartown residents.
