Swiftly flowing river through western Mass

This little river is great for fishing or sightseeing. The highways built along it allow for great sightseeing

The French King Bridge is an interesting cantilever arch bridge spanning the Connecticut River. Its lighting and railings have rich architectural detail. The setting is quiet and restful. And right next door is the wonderful French King Restaurant. Some of the best food we've ever eaten at very reasonable prices! Eat and then walk it off!

This river was a constant for me for 4 years of commuting from Montague, MA to Worcester, MA, winding as if does along route 2. Beautiful in the morning with mists rising, and some old New England villages along the way.
