Tidal river

I don't own a kyak but it looks like an ideal place to paddle around and explore. Lots of marsh birds.

We live one street away from the Essex River, and every time we are boating on it, I still pinch myself at the beauty of our area. Wether you are paddleboarding, kayaking or boating out of the Essex River, you will love the serenity and sheer beauty of the water. And plenty of dining choices nearby make this a great... More

Other than the pleasant ride, there are herons galore to see, plus the vacation homes of the dead, decadent rich. One notable place is one that has been torn down to a skeleton because the neighbors complained the house spoiled their view!

A nice cruising area depending on tides you can travel through the Essex marshes and look for wildlife or sneek up to Farnhams for some fried clams, Just don't be in a rush

The boats come in by the meandering river as it makes it's way from the harbor through the dense marsh-land, one by one, as if in a flotilla. Calm and serene it is as the river seems so peaceful as each boat seems reluctant for their day to end. A few restaurants with docks line the river and the towns... More

Lovely river that makes it's way through salt marshes to Ipswich Bay. Sleepy, lazy, and a great summer experience.
