This was a pleasant old mansion which had been decorated by a local decorator for the Christmas season. Can't say I really liked her style much. The house had a very nice tea room where they served cookies, muffins, tea and cider. (The cookies smelled awesome). The library room was very nice, although it wasn't originally like this as it... This was an outstanding tour/viist. I would highly recommend visiting Highfield Hall and suggest watching for their exhibitions. A lovely home and grounds to tour. I was fascinated by the history of Highfield Hall and Gardens. This property had been in complete disrepair and was almost turned into another subdivision. It was saved by the Falmouth townspeople and has been lovingly restored. The $5 admission fee is a bargain. Don't miss the gardens. FYI - the parking area is to the left of the mansion... More

We visited on Free Friday after 4 . It's a lovely house and the art work was interesting. It would be a beautiful setting for a private wedding. It is definitely not a place for children. Most of the interior was renovated to look like a gallery. It did include some items and decoration that matched the house's time period... More

The Hall is wonderful with it's many rooms filled with Japanese lithographs and woodcuts available for sale. We visited on Wednesday when the docent is there to give so much information. A must see. Get there soon because it will be gone soon.

Saw review in Boston Globe, and went for the day to see wonderfully restored Mansion and Gardens. That alone would have been worth the low admission price of $5. But it also included a delightful exhibit of Japanese prints, which was world class in itself! Hurry quickly to see the print exhibit, as it is only there until mid Sept.... More

Highfield Hall is an 1800's mansion which has been converted into a delightful gem of a museum. This summer, they're showing Kanreki, the 60th anniversary of a print society exhibit founded shortly after WWII. About half the prints are exquisite, while the rest are at worst well done. The show comes to the U.S. once every ten years (2006 was... More

What a wonderful surprise Highfield Hall and Gardens was! The house was the cleanest museum I have ever been in. The staff was warm, welcoming and helpful. The had a Japanese Benton box workshop; great fun! This venue holds numerous special events on various things from workshops to music. There is bound to be something that interests you. There was... History, art, gardens - Highfield has it all. We typically go after Thanksgiving when they have it all decorated for the holidays - very short window to visit so doublecheck the dates. Have train sets and gift shop. Early this summer we went to the opening day of the Japanese exhibit - totally amazing. They had dancing and artists outside... More
