Tide pools and a sand bar

This is a great beach at low tide. There are tide pools to explore and a sand bar that you can walk to. It's in a cove so there are no big waves. Great for small children.

Great family destination! We take many family day trips here. The water is full of fish so bring your rod.

Wingaersheek Beach is across the channel on the Annisquam River facing Annisquam. It is a popular destination for summer bathing and picnic activity. At low tide it is fun to walk out to the sandbar.

I have been to beaches in Virginia Beach and Myrtle Beach, but this beach is my absolute favorite. We got there early and stayed for 4 or so hours and watched the tide go out. I really enjoyed exploring the area and seeing all of the creatures! The sand was a beautiful white. I visited in late June and the... More

This beach is nice. There is public parking. It is best at high tide as it is on the Annisquam river and at low tide you will need to walk far to get to waist deep water. Good for kids to wade in shallow water. Waves are not bad. On the far end of the beach, locals show up in... More

This beach is terrific! Its a nice long walk along the coast and has some great rocks to climb on and sit in the sun and just watch the world go by. This beach IS dog friendly in the winter months - odd days only. This is for super dog friendly dogs only. And the beach has a doggie poop... More

To get the best experience, rent a home right near the beach! It's the best form of relaxation. I stayed here for a whole week and had the best time of my life without even leaving to go to other attractions. There is also lots of room to explore. You will never be bored.

There is something for everyone. Long sweeps of shallow water that youngsters can enjoy. Places to anchor if you arrive by boat. Soft white sand. Rocks for climbing. Quiet sections for those seeking peace. A long shoreline for those who like to walk or to run. Children must be watched closely because the tide comes in quickly and within 10... More

I've never found a beach with warmer water, outside of the Caribbean. The beach is clean and there are a lot of rocks to climb on.
