Topically interesting monument located centrally near outdoor and indoor activities and shops. The monument itself is average. The topic of the lives of fishermen and their families is heartbreaking and heartwarming. Recommend visiting the memorial and then the exhibits on the same topic at the walking distance Cape Ann Museum (or continuing to the beach at Stage Fort Park (rustic)... More

The statue overlooks a quiet bay and it is a lovely place to take a walk if the weather is good. There are plaques embedded in a half dozen large granite stones. On these are the names of all the Gloucester men who have perished at sea, including the six men serving aboard the Andrea Gail.

Beautiful memorial to those brace fisherman who have given their lives to the sea. It's a great walk to the memorial from the center of town.

This memorial honors those who most non seaport dwelling people normally don't even know about....those who have lost their lives to the sea. This area of the HarborWalk is stunning...the view of the harbor, the beautifully maintained gardens, the surrounding homes, and of course, the Wall of Remembrance!! A MUST see! If you're in the area for a whale watch,... More

Lovely walk along a tulip filled riverwalk from one this memorial to the one dedicated to the families. The listing of the names of those known to be lost was chilling, and really brings home the dangers faced by those that make their living on the sea. A definite must see.

The town of Gloucester is rebuilding it's sidewalk, so they put in large beds of tulips of every color. So beautiful to see in the spring when they bloom.

Gloucester is very rich in maritime history. This monument is set in a beautiful location on the shore. To stand there, see the many names of those who perished and look out to see is quite a moving experience. It was great to take some time out of our day to visit this historic site.

I never grow tired of visiting this monument. I never tire of browsing the list of names etched on the memorial stones - the men lost at sea. "The Perfect Storm" first brought me to Gloucester. Visiting the memorials and various tours have taught me how brave, dedicated, and hard-working people who work in the fishing industry are - especially... More
