Great family friendly ski area. Staff are always helpful and fun. Very safety oriented and maintain slopes well. Runs for a small area are excellent and varied for all levels. Ski instruction is very professional, I took a lesson and was able to improve significantly.

Love Butternut!! Best prices around and an amazing family environment with a wonderful atmosphere! We go every weekend from December through March! The gem of the northeast!

I love the variety of runs there are! I’ve been coming to butternut since i was very little and i still have the same excitement every time! Most blacks are relatively easy and the terrain parks are nice. definitely recommend!

I have been to Butternut about four times; I live out-of-town. All times have been fun because this is a small, older ski area and relatively easy to navigate. Although I don't have small children, they do cater to families and newer skiers, in my...More

We had a great 2 hours tubing with 4 adults and 5 kids. There is no double tubing, so that might not be great for very young children, but there were also not any height / weight restrictions either. Our youngest was 5, but there...More

If you're looking for a good local ski area, not too far from NYC, Butternut is good for couples and families. It's easily accessible to lots of motels and inns. It has good trails.

This is a fun small mountain but your kids will outgrow it quickly especially with the newer ownership and conditions. The owners son took is over years ago and seems to only care about the bottom line and not the experience which was a huge...More

Beer and wine available in the upper lodge which is only open on weekends and holidays. It's a cafeteria, not a bar, though

Snow tubing is available in a separate Tubing Area from the ski slopes (meaning you can't conveniently ski in or out of the snow tubing area). It features a "magic carpet" conveyor up a single hill which seems pretty small... More
