Fabulous nature reserve for hiking & exploring. It's on $5 entry for adults & the park ranger was very helpful providing us with a map & detailed information about the trails. We hiked up to the Lenox Mountain fire tower - fabulous views & a handy bench for a well deserved rest. It's about an hours hike to the top.... More

Took the more intense hike called the Ledges trail at Pleasant Valley sanctuary-. The hike was a 3 mile hike but we also included another trail called Overbrook - which was another half hour. The top view included the Richmond valley Pittsfield to the north. Very pretty especially on a sunny day. I took hiking poles due to my knee... More

We hiked on the trail to the fire tower that was less steep (the overlook, I think). It was beautiful, and it took 2 hours to go up, 11/2 hours going down. The trail was well marked, with blue markers going up, and yellow markers going back. It's a lovely spot for a hike. There are other trails for those... More

This place is close to Lenox so made for a good morning's outing. We hiked the steep trail to the summit and should have kept to the less challenging trail to the summit. Nevertheless, we made the summit in about 1.5 hours with several breaks along the way, Only took 1.25 hours down. The view from the summit was amazing.... More

We agree with many others this place is worth a visit. We spent a good few hours following the various trails however if you want to spot anything keep quiet and take your time. We sat quietly by the pond and were happy to see a beaver right in front of us. So many people just go rushing by and... More

This was a nice area to explore. The route we took was varied, with dense forests, a pond, and a stream and even a view from the summit (though it was a bit odd up there.. ) I really enjoyed the pond, but came during the wrong time and missed the beavers. On the other hand, sunrise or sunset in... More

The walks were nice and the trails well marked. We didn't see much, but had a pleasant morning. Many other people saw beavers (better at night), and many birds (we only saw 2 or 3.

Consider yourself outdoorsy? You'll want some time tot take in the paths, fresh air and gorgeous scenery nature has to offer? Here's a wonderful spot to reclaim yourself. A picnic, binoculars and willing spirit make for a lovely afternoon hike!
