Our guide was impressively knowledgeable and covered a great deal of information while leading us through the house and finally studio. The architecture is unique, but is showing its age and has deteriorated. Most rooms are original to the owners' taste and belongings.More

Thank you for appreciating the architecture of this 75 year old modern house and studio. As you noted, continual restoration is ongoing. At present, the installation of the marble on the south veranda is in the final stages. The workers have been limited to working...More

Talent, but not genius. Still, they gave it everything they had - and they had sufficient money to create this truly unique space. A glimpse into the elite American art milieu of the mid 20th century.

This is near the Tanglewood property so anyone heading to a Tanglewood concert on a Sunday afternoon, try and stop in for a tour. The house is intact with most of the owners furnishings with the exception of a few floors that had been refurbished....More

Off the beaten path, a bit eccentric, but fascinating tour of a corner of 20th Century art. Worth it on a second trip.

The trip though .3 miles of woods, on foot or by golf cart is well worth traveling. The 1941 Bauhaus home is decorated in Mid Century Modern and is filled with the abstract cubist art of George L.K.Morris and his wife Suzy Frelinghuysen. Other artists...More

Your descriptive review addresses the many facets of the experience of the tour. It is wonderful to know that you appreciated the information on the backs of the Cubist masterpieces displayed front and back this season, which tell their stories.

The architecture, setting and contents of this home are exceptional. In an area where most if not all homes open to the public represent the Gilded Age I found it refreshing to see a home built and furnished in the first half of the 1900's...More

We planned a weekend in Lenox because it had already closed when we were here last year--and we were not disappointed! It is an amazing place. The house itself is beautiful--outside and in--and the rooms retain both the flavor and taste of the original owners,...More

This is the house of two artists who were great painters and lead interesting lives. The wife was also an opera singer with considerable talent. The guides are friendly and well informed. The grounds are lovely.

Yes, we have accommodations for those who cannot climb stairs and have a wheelchair or walker. We access the different levels with a golf cart transport. It is ideal to call ahead to make sure enough staff are available.
