Cool place

Eclectic, funky conversion of a riverside mill. A must see if you are in the area. Worth a detour as well.

A classic place. Good variety of books, fun cafe adjacent, fine restaurant downstairs and a nice mix of people. Great in all seasons.

We stopped here because the pictures online drew us in. It was a neat place to visit, they have a broad selection of books for niche categories like art history, WWII, poetry, etc. We were hoping for more current books as well but that did not seem to be the focus.

Something for everybody in this quaint, attractive, serene, comfortable place. Spend an hour to a day here. Hubby can drink beer and nap while spouse browses books, art, music - or vice versa. Going back soon.

Spent a few hours in this mill building where the store is located. Great cubby holes where you can read, relax, etc. Many folks with their lap tops also. Interesting selection of books across several rooms on two levels. Of you're a book lover, check it out.

We stopped at the book ill after it being recommended by someone we were visiting. We each found several books and enjoyed the relaxed setting. Old easy chair by an open window, listening to the water rushing over the rocks in the river, was a great place to scan some books to make our final selections. Highly recommended, if you... More

The Montague Bookmill is a marvel for booklovers. The converted building includes so many private nooks for reading or studying. Upstairs is more of a library environment. Downstairs is a little more lively and includes an entrance to an attached cafe. Books are organized by subject: lots of titles to browse through, covering science, religion, local and world history, general... More

Wonderful place in a fantastic location. We spent a rainy day here a few months ago, and there couldn't be a better spot to read while listening to the rain and thunder on a summer's day. We always find great stuff to add to the library in our B&B, and the prices are superb. Just perfect. Don't change, Bookmill!

If you're looking for a specific book, you probably won't find it. But you will have an awesome time browsing through the fine selection of used books. I always come home with a gem. A great place to go for a day trip.

You get there by driving through real farm country (or at least as farmy as you get in Massachusetts). Used bookstore is in a converted mill which long ago used that river for power. Good array of used books. Take the time to study all the available titles. Lots of folks just using the comfy chairs to quietly observe the... More
