I went to the Annual Documentary Film Festival at the Firehouse Center for the Arts in September and thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon of interesting films. The town itself was a delight to walk around it and there are plenty of cafés and restaurants as well. Loved this place!

The old saying; " nice things can come in small packages " certainly applies to the pint sized theater in downtown Newburyport : Firehouse Center for the Arts.....There's not a bad seat in the house for sight or sound. A friend suggested ( knowing we were looking for some live entertainment ) the little Firehouse Theatre in Market square. We... More

What a delightful small theater. I had picked up a device to boost the sound offered for free by the theater. But I didn't need it. I heard every word, unaided. And it is hard to imagine that there is a "bad seat in the house". We enjoyed a great comedy, "The Complete Shakespeare, Abridged". A wonderful production in a... More

Haven't been for a while, but this is a great little theatre to see a play or performance. It's fairly small which makes it an engaging experience. Have seen lots of wonderful shows here. There are also lots of wonderful restaurants nearby for dining before or after.

We saw a production of "To Kill a Mockingbird." This was our second visit to the Firehouse for a dramatic production. Well cast, well staged, blocked out well. All in all, an excellent production for reasonably priced tickets. Watch the schedule. We'll definitely return.

14 writers, 7 directors, 21 actors and a producer have 24 hours to come up with 7 plays, 10 minutes each! Great fun!

A pleasant visit and we enjoyed the presentation by the Clerk on duty. Since we appreciate good art but not close to the daily scene we manage to always learn something about the art and artist who painted the pictures. would go back often.

What an intimate little venue. The Boston Comedy show was the first time I attended an event here. Not a bad seat in the house. The show was probably one of the funniest comedy shows I've attended, well done Firehouse, for attracting such great talent. I'll definitely attend more events there!
