Each time we've visited we've been impressed by how original and educational the exhibits have been. Each exhibit has been, in itself, a work of art. Don't forget to check out the stairwells - even they have exhibits.

The Art Museum is manageable and well worth a visit. The College has some lovely classics and also features special exhibitions.

The art museum at Mt. Holyoke College is a real treasure, containing world-class paintings and antiquities from the ancient world. The special exhibits change often enough to keep it interesting and the extensive permanent exhibit also changes. On top of this it is free to the public.

My husband and I visited last weekend after we took in the annual Spring Bulb Show in the college greenhouse ( wonderful display with an Irish theme ). The museum is right next door so we decided to take a look around. We were impressed with the Navaho weaving collection on display . There is also a Joel Meyerowitz photography... More

The museum is a bit small but their pieces are wonderful. The Greek bronze statue of a youth was exceptionally detailed, one needs only look at the fine lines of his somewhat elaborate hairstyle to imagine the thought and time that was poured into the statuette. Some other highlights were a plaque of Hecate, a medieval effigy tomb slab and... More

We went here on a weekday and had a nice time with our five year old. There was a sheet given out for kids where they had to look for objects in the paintings found in each room which kept our son entertained. I would recommend this museum to anyone who wanted to visit a nice art museum, whether they... More

Not only does the college art museum have an excellent permanent collection, but also it has wonderful changing exhibits throughout the year. It is always an interesting place to visit-a real treasure in the Pioneer Valley.

This museum is absolutely worth traveling to. The permanent collection includes some breathtaking works from a wide variety of eras. Temporary exhibits are top-quality: when we visited there was a beautiful exhibit of Matisse drawings curated by (and including some works by) Ellsworth Kelly. Plus, you get to sit on priceless George Nakashima benches while gazing at paintings :)
