Great place to walk around and explore. Saw some amazing things and got some great pictures. Went here on our last day of the trip and it was very relaxing. The gift shop is definitely one of the highlights.

Beautiful grounds and buildings at this monastery. The Trappist Monks here make some of the best preserves we have ever had. They are available in the supermarket but there's something special about getting them at the source...besides the huge variety of flavors. Gift shop also...More

Be sure to drive up the hill to the abbey - the view is spectacular and it is so peaceful. Before leaving stop at the gift shop for a variety of items: jams/jellies, candies, humorous religious cards, religious books, etc.

The grounds of Saint Joseph's Abbey are beautiful and peaceful. The church has two visitor chapels to sit and pray. The Trappists monks who live at the Abbey are self-sustaining and make incredible jams, preserves and beer.

Wonderful on several levels, I love the beauty of the landscape and the monastery church. The monks sing wonderfully at their prayer times. The gift shop has a lot too not to mention the new beer.

They do not do tours. The brewery is within the monastic enclosure which is closed to the public.
