In March before the heavy season the Falmouth ferry is the most reliable for multiple trips to Martha's Vineyard. You have to park a little further away from the ferry if you're walking on and the bus will take you down to the boat. Very timely comfortable yet chilly on the deck for the trip to the Vineyard. There is... More

The ship is large so a lot of people can fit on each shuttle...and the shuttles run periodically. They have parking on site. The trip is pretty quick and enjoyable. You can get a list of the shuttles leaving and coming back for each day. It was very clean and I certainly felt safe and comfortable.

Attempted to make a reservation this morning to use the ferry later this spring. Could have been the internet but in 30 years of using a computer I have never experienced a website that was slower and non user friendly as this one. After an hour finally gave up and decided to call in the reservation and encountered about the... More

Most important thing: Do not count on parking in Woods Hole for this ferry. You need to park in Falmouth on MA-28, north of Main St and take a shuttle down to the ferry dock. It was very confusing for us to drive from coastal Falmouth away from Woods Hole to park our car for the ferry. Plan enough time... More

Arrived early at the parking lot and we were really pleased with the way it was managed. Good shuttle service to the Ferry at Woods Hole. Sat outside on the deck and really enjoyed the ferry journey both ways. It was a lovely sunny day so great views. On arrival at MV we were a little unsure on where to... More

Even though it was fall, we picked a sunny warm day to ride out to Martha's Vineyard and back. We bought an excellent lunch at The Waterside Market and ate it top deck on the way back to Falmouth. Wonderful way to spend the day.

I cannot speak highly enough about the Steamship Authority. I often arrived earlier than my scheduled trip and I got in line and went on the next ferry. i have trouble walking so i've taken the car the last three years and have been lucky to get in the handicapped lot at Woods Hole. It is a pleasure to deal... More

On our recent, end of season, trip to Martha’s Vineyard we decided to take the car onto the ferry so we can explore the island. This was going to be our first time with a car on a ferry and I was pretty nervous about logistics and technicalities of the process. We arrived at Woods Hole about 30 minutes before... More
