While the Red Wings aren't going to play here in the future, the memories of the Joe are special. With my brother, nephew's engagement, friends and doing fundraising projects with nonprofits, there are many memories here.

As I walk the Detroit riverwalk, I always climb the stairs at the former home of the Detroit Red Wings. There are beautiful murals painted highlighting some of the many performances held at JLA and of course Red Wings logo.

An amazing lifetime experience that I will forever cherish. So sad to see the Joe go, I've been a hockey/Red Wings fan since 2001 and unfortunately this was my first and last game in the Joe. Worth the trip from New York.

The Best closing day ceremony you could of imagined after a good win to close out not only the season but THE JOE as Well. A 2 plus hour Marvelous Heart warming event. And I'm not even a Redwing Fan

Joe Louis arena will always be remembered as the biggest small venue with plenty of viewing angles and very easy to walk around. The suites are nice but understandable outdated for the most part. Some very good teams have graced these boards

We went to the Hall and Oates/Tears for Fears w/ Allen Stone Concert. We had great seats and enjoyed the intimate setting of the Joe. It has great history and we took a walk around the Vendor space to look at pictures of Red Wing...More

I attended the Outlaw concert with friends. We had awesome seats. There were dedicated entrances and elevators for handicapped individuals. They were the lucky ones to catch Willy Nelsons bandannas when he thru them out to the audience. The only problem we seen was one...More

We attended the "Outlaw Concert" at the Joe. Overall it was a good experience -- the only issue that I saw was that their were limited accommodations for people with handicaps. I saw several people with canes etc who had to navigate the stairs --...More

This is a tribute review to the place where I learned how to appreciate cheap beer out of thin plastic cups, and the importance of carrying an octopus in your pants *just in case*

I cannot picture a better place to watch hockey.. no upper level where an oxygen mask is needed to get to your seat. close to the action even in the cheap seats.. Fans are really into the game... atmosphere is incredible..

Anywhere but the top rows is usually a good area to sit. It's a smallish arena.

Easiest parking is at the ramp, but it is definitely not the cheapest! Are you spending the night if so many of the nicer hotels offer shuttle service. As far as where to eat, that depends on what you like as well as how... More

I would not bring a purse. They were rumors people were being turned away if they had a purse. I hid my small purse under my jacket. Only purse I saw was clear plastic.
