We wanted to visit this famous place that had so much musical history. So many people were standing outside and no one was entering the museum for some reason. You are not allowed to take pictures on the inside and the entry fee was way to expensive..

Not just a museum but an experience. The Motown Museum AKA Hitsville, USA is a little museum but packs a big punch. A docent (our guy was Jordan who was funny, informative and genuinely loves what what he does) will walk you through the house where Berry Gordy helped make so many stars. It starts with a short informative 16... More

Growing up in the Detroit area, I, like most of my friends, had never been to the Motown Museum. Before hitting Greektown and the Casinos, we finally made it and it was more than just worth it. Our tour guide (name escapes me) was extremely knowledgeable, engaging and had an awesome voice! We learned so much about Barry Gordy and... More

We had a wonderful tour, that was well worth the price!! Our tour guide Tanesha (sorry if the spelling is wrong!) was very knowledgeable and had us transport back in time to the era of Motown. Loved all parts of this tour and would highly recommend it to others.

The 1-hour guided tour at the original home of Motown Records was absolutely wonderful. As a moderate Motown fan, I was excited to go, but it exceeded expectations! So much history in those rooms, and it feels like you've stepped back in time. Definitely worth the $15 admission. Don't miss if you're in Detroit!

Having seen other music museums, this one had the most rigid rules and guides, who confronted guests to spit out gum, put away cell phones, hold questions until the end etc. The rigidity and tour guide therefore detracted from the experience rather than enhanced it. The museum tour was brief, just under an hour, but interesting. I had expected more... More

The tour guide for my session was very enthusiastic (Cecilia) and a fountain of knowledge about Motown musicians and stories. I was glad to learn more about the people and music that helped put my home town on the global map.

It has been a couple of years since we visited the Motown Museum and the reason for me doing this review now is because the stage production Motown Musical is coming back to the area. The last time the Motown Musical was here we toured the museum prior to going to the show and found that it really increased our... More

I love the Motown sound! And this place is chockful of Motown memorabilia--Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, the Commodores, and many more. The guides were entertaining and informative. At the end, though not most fascinating place, it was a great diversion. Recommendation: book your tickets in advance! I was lucky to get in--and I was 3rd person in line... More
