The Riverfront is beautiful. Perfect views of Canada across the water. We rented bicycles and rode all long the water. There is a lot of people walking along the path as well. You can also stop for a drink or a snack. The whole area...More

Detroit evokes iffy thoughts for some, but our visit to Detroit was excellent. The River Front is pretty and well designed. Not as good as Chicago, but still, lovely and walkable.

The development of the waterfront area is absolutely amazing. I've never felt safer. Kids jumping and playing in the fountains and the long secure area to walk run play or picnic that stretches from Cobo Hall all the way to Chene Park. Lots of friendly...More

Walked along the River walk with family and we all had a nice time. We went all the way down to the Gilbert Family park and the kids loved playing in the splash pads there. The shipwreck theme is very creative and was a great...More

When weather permits, this well maintained trail along the river is the perfect way to take in some fresh air in the heart of the city. Check out the world map in front of the Ren Cen, splash in the fountain, see the riverboat, meander...More

If you are looking for a beautifully relaxing walk along the river, this is your place to be. Watch the ships and sailboats go by and look across at Canada. It cost nothing to enjoy this spectacular view.

I love the Detroit Riverfront was last here during the Detroit Jazz Festival. It is a great place to walk during the Spring and Summer.

The path is for walking, jogging or bike riding. There are places to rent bikes, and even festivals along the way in the summer months. The path has different sections that offer different things.

Good answers. It is so close that if the river was frozen you could walk there, however; it would really upset the INS and Homeland Security folks. Take the bus or a cab.

Ambassador Bridge (unless still being worked on), or the Tunnel. Not sure time wise but just wanted to give you options to get there.
