If you like art and culture the Detroit Institute of Arts is a must see on your trip to Detroit. Diego Rivera has a special room dedicated to his art. Go during the week and the crowds are not so big.

Maybe I'm bias because of my love for Diego Rivera and Frida Khalo but the Rivera room is beautiful! Free entrance for certain counties and host events and special guests at times

The DIA is truly a gem in the City of Detroit! Home to many masterpieces, like Van Gogh's self portrait, the DIA is a must see if you visit Detroit.

Wear your walking shoes and prepare to explore. Go alone or with a friend ready to engage in a dialogue about the intersection of art movements, history and politics.
