Been a long time since I've been here but it is deserving of its recognition. Wish I would have had more time to do some more exploring and enjoy the views. It took about 3 hours. The sand dune climb is a lot harder than it looks and it seems you will never reach the top. It's an amazing show... More

You can't beat the beauty of the dunes. We have been there before but never hiked the back trails like we did this trip. So glad we did! Only 2 people over looking the lake and the view was stunning.

Something for everyone. Athletic- then climb the dunes to take in the views. Moderate to difficult. If you aren't inclined then go to areas where an easy stair climb will give you the view without the exertion.

This place is gorgeous and the person who complained about the entrance fee is a complete idiot. Why don't you go to the top of the dune throw yourself over.

We took the scenic drive and pulled off at all the stops. Each one is uniquely beautiful. Amazing that a place like this exists here in Michigan. The walks aren't too long and worth every single step. This is a must stop for every person living or visiting here in beautiful Michigan.

Sleeping Bear Dunes puts my mind in a different place. It is by far the most relaxing vacation spot. The views of Lake Michigan and the Dunes themselves are amazing. My family loves this place. We have stayed at both DH Day Campground and Platte River. When staying at DH Day we met the nicest people, low key and relaxing.... More

You must climb up the highest dune, enjoy the view, and run back down. It's so exciting and definitely a must have seen/must have done :-)

Take the scenic drive, wander down any of the beautiful trails and just marvel at dunes. Breathtaking - and do spend time watching the brave walking up the steep face of the big dune - not something for those of us that are out of shape - but fun to watch.

The beaches are so pretty, the water is crystal blue, not that crowded. The bugs were sort of bad near the lookout points. Climbing the hill is tiring.

We visited Sleepy Bear in February. It was an unusually warm weekend for February (50's) which made this visit prefect. We traveled via car with the kids (9 and 11). Everyone truly enjoyed it! Make your first stop at the Visitors Center for some great information prior to heading out. We definitely recommend stopping at the North Bar Beach area.... More
