We have been to the dunes multiple times and each time was a memorable experience. This place offers terrific views and the fun of dune climbing is much fun but not as much as running back down :)

One of my favorite places. I love the Pierce-Stocking Scenic Drive. I have been to the Dunes many, many times during my life. We didn't do the dune climb, but I did it as a child and young adult. It's fun. Be careful of the...More

This place is simply too beautiful for words. The more you experience the dunes, the forests, the wildlife, the trails, the lakes, streams, and of course Lake Michigan the more you want to return. The little towns and the historical sites just add to the...More

The dunes are a magnificent site in their own, but looking out over the Lake of Michigan is an experience not to be missed!

We had no idea of what to expect on our first trip to northwestern Michigan. We had only seen the lake from the Chicago area and never would have believed the hues of ocean blues and greens which are so prevalent in the northern section...More

We’ve never quite come across dunes like this anywhere on our travels. Was a hot day and we decided to follow the path to the lake, which was a lot longer that we expected and with hindsight we should had had more water with us....More

This is a very large park and I have only begun to learn about this park over 4 days. Every place we went seemed better than the last. Even when we tried to "take a break" and simply walk a back trail away from the...More

We decided to visit the dunes in the winter. You can still climb the dunes but the other roads are closed for the winter. Only a couple other cars there so it definetly was not crowded. Warms you up fast climbing.

We were there for the dunes climb and noticed long open trails. No wooded trails come to mind, however the dunes are located in the National Park/Lakeshore. We too, stayed at Indigo Bluffs in our RV. Great locale to the... More
