What a wonderful find! Fayette Historic State Park is a bit out of the way, but well worth it. The park itself has easy hiking trails, picnic spots, and camping, but for us the real fun was seeing the remains of a major 19th century...More

Fayette is an amazing historic town - preserved and providing a small glimpse into what life was like in the early 1800s in Michigan. The campground is a little rough, but the sites are fine and the restrooms are clean and well maintained. You can...More

This park, about an hour from Munising and much closer to Manistique and Escanaba, is well worth a half-day visit. It's a remarkable sight -- a whole 19th-century town scape preserved in varied ways. Really admire the foresight of those who acquired the property in...More

Last visited as a kid, the park service has added many more exhibits & opened more buildings. The displays did a great job of giving you a sense of life in a remote company town in the late 1800s

We didn't realize how much there was to see here when we planned our stop. You have the main village when you walk in but then there are pathways around by the water with houses and ruins as well. A large number of the buildings...More

Just visited again, have been here several times. I think it is the most serene place in Michigan. Big Bay Da Noc is stunning. It is such a quiet and historic place to see. Very easy to walk around area

If you only get a short time in the UP, definitely make this a place to stop. It shows off so many of the amazing attributes of the upper peninsula - all in one stop. The most obvious is our unique industrial history. It is...More

I just spent 1 night at the campground. Yes, there is a water source to fill up water jugs and no, there are no showers in the campground, only restrooms/toilets. There is a lovely beach by the campground, though. If you... More
