This is a very large and pretty beach. Plenty of room for families to spread out and a small play area that kids will love.

Enjoyed about 4 hours here at this lovely beach. The sand was soft and clean. Lots of close parking, although it filled up fast so get here earlier rather than later. Showers, changing stalls and restroom facilities. Also a nice playground for littles.

As we walked strolling along the beach. Kites flying overhead. Waves crashing along the rocks and shores. The clouds forming along the edge of the water. People watching, kids playing. Sand between your toes. Overall what a place. The pier was closed for renovation but...More

I know that sounds like a unsupportable statement, but I've been to beaches out east, out west, and even in Monaco. None were as nice and clean, with "sugar sand" as the Grand Haven beach.

The Grand Haven State Park has beautiful sandy beaches, complete bathroom facilities, parking (you need a MI State Park sticker) and a camping area reservations.recommended in summer)

This is one of the best beaches in the world. The sand is soft and clean. It "sings" when you walk through it. The park is within close walking distance of town. The park has clean restrooms, food service in the summer months, and friendly...More

My husband and I really enjoyed spending several hours at this park. There is a beautiful beach area, nice benches, and clean restrooms. You can see the lighthouse from the park.

We have 2 kids, a 12 year old & autistic 15 year old-is there a lot to keep them entertained in Grand Haven? Should we split our time between grand haven & another area, such as Traverse City?

It partly depends on the time of year you'll be in Grand Haven, the length of your stay, and how well the weather co-operates! But with the beaches and dunes along Lake Michigan, numerous state, county and city parks, the... More

I realize that the catwalk ("spine") is down, but...how disruptive is the construction. We're hoping to come in mid-June, but if that whole are is filled with cement trucks and jackhammers, that isn't really the trip we're looking for.

The only portion of the boardwalk which is closed is the actual pier itself. The entire length of the boardwalk from downtown to the pier is open. You will have excellent views of the light house from the boardwalk and the... More

Can be chilly or if it is "Indian Summer" it can be beautiful. It is Michigan! (Wait ten minutes, the weather will change)
