We are local members of the Kalamazoo Nature Center and have been for years! There are a variety of paths to hike based on skill and travel time available. Each pathway include unique vistas! There are beautiful flowers, barn animals, birds, bridges, rivers and creeks, train tracks and a butterfly hut to explore. The Center itself has a large children's... More

The Kalamazoo Nature Center has absolutely gorgeous trails. It is very well cared for and has a lot of variety. There are easy, moderate, and difficult trails to walk. I'm not sure if they have wheelchair accessible trails but they may. There is also a nice building with a fun interpretive center that my kids enjoyed.

The Kalamazoo Nature Center is a wonderful place to visit. They have trails for walking (for any fitness ability), scenic overlooks, and an interpretive center to learn about animals and plants. The indoor garden room is especially nice on cool days. There is also a play place for kids to use at any time (ask the helpful staff where to... More

I love being outdoors. I enjoy nature and walking through wooded trails. This area has beautiful trails, wildlife and activities for many different fitness levels and interest.

We only had a couple of hours and could have spent much more. The interpretive center, while beginning to show its age, provides good information about the area flora and fauna. We took the wall to the river, admiring the forest and enjoying the bird songs on the way.

If you are a teacher looking for a great field trip ....this is it! The staff at the Delano Homestead were great. We also went on the trails for a short hike. The kids got to see a snake in its natural environment which was great! They loved it!

I agree with other reviewers that the entrance fee seems steep, adds up quick with a family. However, the trails are awesome and well kept. A lot of the trails are shaded so if you don't like mosquito bites I would use spray. Trails are dirt so bring comfortable shoes. Some of the grounds near the visitor center could use... More

We visited here on a whim because we enjoyed it when we lived in Kalamazoo many years ago. We had a great time hiking some of the shorter trails full of birds and wild flowers. Kids would love it there!

Starting coming to the Nature Center when my little brother (16 years my junior) was 11. He is 49 :) now and while he lives on the east side of the state, I have continued to visit the Nature Center every year since. Doesn't matter what season you choose, there is always the peaceful woods and the trails leading all... More
