We opted to do this smaller museum over a bigger attraction in town, and I’m so glad we did! My kids (ages 12, 10, and 7) had a great time here. So many exhibits are interactive, and there is also a planetarium. We spent at least three hours here, and they could have easily have spent another hour in the map exhibit.

Nice place.. Great place to be no matter what the occasion... I loved it. It wasn't too busy or not enough people. It was just right and wasn't expensive. I saw a movie in the planetarium room and the person who conducted it was professional a s knowledgeable... It was very clean and I have no complaints about this place what do ever.

We love going to the Kzoo Valley Museum. It's one of the best small musuems you could find anywhere. There's a mummy and a few ancient artifacts. But the strength of this museum is local history and interactive science learning for children from preschool through early teens. It's easy to spend at least a couple hours if you try the experiments. Check their schedule for top-notch travelling exhibits for kids. They also have special programs for adults some evenings, ranging from foreign films and documentaries to live folk music or jazz. Park in the ramp at Rose and Water streets (by the Radisson) and walk north to the entrance, or the ramp at Rose and Eleanor and walk south. Summer festivals are a block east. They don't validate parking, but if you walk a couple blocks south to do some shopping, bring your parking ramp ticket. Don't walk further north or west unless you're brave and want to see local innercity.

I can't believe this museum charges no entrance fee! It's three floors of all sorts of hands on science and history exhibits, with some great information on the history of Kalamazoo. We could have easily spent another hour or two there, and will definitely be back!

This is a five star Museum and Planetarium. Great shows about the stars with a high quality projector. Very interactive museum for children. Positive learning experience for all ages!

The museum is free first off. How great is that? Even when they have special stuff going on most of the time it is free. There are three floors of great things for kids and adults with the 3rd floor changing every few months. They also have the cool planetarium which is a couple dollars extra but is very awesome.

We go to KVM 3-5 times a year because it is free and close. You will have to pay for parking on weekdays. There is also a playground and soak park a block away for summer months. You can eat lunch near the playground on nice days and KVM will let you eat lunch in the lobby area as well. They have locker rentals that are very reasonable too. My kids 5 and 8 love the place. They also have a very nice 5 and under area adjacent to the big kid area. You can watch both age groups at the same time if you stand at the entryway to the little kids area. They have movies and a planetarium too but they cost extra.

This is a wonderful free attraction in Kalamazoo. The museum is almost completely interactive which I assume would be wonderful kids. It's a bit stale for solo adults though. Otherwise, it's a great small town museum showcasing local history and natural history artifacts. They even have an Egyptian mummy.

Had a couple of hours to kill with our 9-year-old son, so we decided to check out the museum. Beautiful facility with terrifically-maintained/interesting exhibits. Overall, I'd say the museum caters towards younger audiences (especially the interactive portions), but my wife, son, and I still found the experience quite positive. The best part? Free admission, but I was happy to donate to keep this wonderful place thriving.
