Very beautiful and stunning nature. Leads to an ancient monastery where you can buy handmade rosepetal jam made by the monks.
They also have a amazing view and a souvenir shop. Excellent trip

Thieves roaming around braking into cars to steal. Travellers need to be extra careful because the local police cannot do much.

Last time i was here it was 15 years ago… Back then, you would rarely see another person, other than the ones visiting the monastery.
Now, hundreds of people are trekking, camping and enjoying the lake and the forest. A fantastic site that everyone must see. Bring snacks and drinks and enjoy the alpine scenery. Just remember not to leave any traces of your visit behind :)
The only drawback is the local bazar which you can avoid easily.
Definitely a recommendation

A beautiful and fun place for the entire family with lots of activities like horse riding, water bikes, hiking, cycling, jogging, swimming and of course shopping from the local producers.
A must visit!

One of the most beautiful places to visit and trecking around the lake.
Some people were camping there.
There was also sea kayaking available.

Fancy a swim in cool fresh water, then head for Doxa lake. A day out for family or friends but take your drinks and picnic with you. There are tavernas nearby but relax by the lake its worth the trip if you like the mountains and open country.

Such a peaceful and beautiful place! It is great to walk around and just take in the images. We visited during autumn and the colours were impressive. You can also rent bikes and/or go horseback riding.

Nice lake with clear water and the possibility for some watersports (in the weekend). Unfortunately lots of mosquitos and at the chapel lots of tourists and pushy traders - they even came to the car before we could get out to sell some cookies...

I loved this place. High mountain amazing technical make lake. Don't know about the fish. Nature is beautiful. Gorgeous. Many people coming to visit this place. High trees. Just the road was difficult very high many curves on the road and road is not very good. You passed many small amazing villages . We had lunch at Stymfalia . Recommended

Visited during March. The lake has a great view and is great to have a quick picnic. On top of the mount is a small monastery which is a must do. Inside thw monastery there is a "Krifo Scholio" which was a secret schoold for teaching Greek and the Christian doctrine during the Ottoman rule.
