This is a worthwhile Hike. Hike wanders by three or four lakes, as well as the Platte River. It is listed at 3.2 miles and took us 1 3/4 hours.

We have hiked and skied this path, and it is equally beautiful in the fall and winter. Perfect way to get outdoors for a ramble before visiting the Lake Ann Brewery. Enjoy!

3 miles of trails through hardwoods, along the Platte, near small lakes, across from the state rustic campground on Lake Ann. Most trails are moderate but there are a few larger hills you may want to get off your bike and push. The roots and sand make for a challenging ride. You can make it through in an hour while biking and hiking but snowshoeing may take longer. You can park at the trailhead across the road at the campground. There are rustic bathrooms and a pump for water. It is a state park so you need a sticker to park there but you can get away with no sticker most often. Hey, it is only a small fee so just contribute. This is close to Lake Ann so you may want to get a brew at Lake Ann Brewery when done or a coffee at The Red Door Cafe or a cone or go explore the Lake Ann Grocery Store. This pathway has cutaways that can shorten the distance. If you are hiking with kids make sure they are up for it and have water. The river is on the left/south side.

First time here, and we loved it. We went the route that took us to the Platte River the quickest. It was beautiful. We ended up skiing the whole route, which really isn't all that long. There is plenty of variety, lots of hills. The woods are beautiful, you'll also see some small lakes. I like that dogs are allowed, but I wish the snow showers would pay more attention to staying off the ski tracks.
