I know this might sound strange, but during an event in the city of Lansing - Be A Tourist in Your Town, this cemetery was a stop and had a walking/driving history lesson where you had to go along and stop at different headstones and markers to learn some extremely interesting history about residents of historical Lansing that are laid... Great for a stroll. You will get your workout going up and down the winding roads. This cemetery runs alongside of the river trail/ There are some really beautiful markers from days gone by.

Nicknamed "Marlboro Country" by the local residents. A surprising number of dignitaries have found their final rest, here. The asphalt surface of the road will have to be replaced, soon.

I have always loved this cemetery! There is a lot of Lansing history here! the October cemetery walk is very interesting! The problem...since that city has privatized the grounds keeping it has gone down hill. So sad that such a beautiful resting place is not well cared for........The city of Lansing should feel ashamed!!!!!!

I have family here. When I visit the cemetery is always well-cared for. The office is friendly and helpful in locating a grave.

I love the tours! Mt. Hope Cemetery was a stop on the Lansing’s “Be A Tourist In Your Own Town” event which was May 30, 2015. The historic municipal cemetery tours are usually hosted by the Friends of Lansing’s Historic Cemeteries, this year's special focus was on "Sign and Symbols in Stone", a self-guided tour featuring emblems and insignias carved... Lots and lots of walking, so wear good shoes....but the stories & history behind the various graves is pretty cool.

I love to walk and jog there. Its peaceful and beautiful. Nelly Keyhoe is burried there! She is the wife of the Bath school bomber in 1927. He tied her to a wagon and set her body on fire before he went to the school that sad and fateful day. The name on her stone is Ellen Price.
