My family enjoyed a beautiful, albeit chilly, crossing. We enjoyed playing bingo, watching a movie in the theater, and relaxing on the front deck. I would recommend a blanket and/or jacket as it's windy and cool even in the summer. Boarding process was hassle-free, and staff was so friendly. So much more enjoyable than driving through Chicago to get to... More

We took the Badger from MI to WI this past summer. My opinion is floating somewhere between "man this ferry is really old and needs a lot of work" and "man this ferry is really old but the quarks add charm". Let's be real, it is old, there are many leaks/leaky places internally, overall it smells like the engine room... More

Loved the experience, the boarding crew, as I am handicapped and was fully accommodated. Many things to do on the 4 hour cruise, movies, souvenier shop, deck lounges. The only thing we didn't care for, was the 1 1/2 hour time to spend in Manatowak Wis. We were able to get an ice cream cone once there, then risk being... More

We crossed the Lake on SS Badger. From Ludington, MI to Manitowoc, WI. Spectacular sunset! Great way to travel!

The staff is quite friendly, helpful, and very efficient. They know their stuff, and go out of the way to make the voyage pleasant! Expect to pay a bit more for food on board than you will on shore, but that's to be expected. There is plenty for the kids to do, and they'll be safe on board. You're likely... More

I'd like to start with the positives, the staff are top notice friendly bunch. They are approachable which makes you comfortable. The boat is a piece of history and worth while for any history buff. So smooth and quiet, you can faintly hear the old stream reciprocal engines which is a sound we may not hear anywhere soon enough. But... More

My Wife and I enjoyed the cruise across Lake Michigan to Wisconson when we went to the Dells this Summer. The staff are so friendly and efficient. I love the old ship and all of it's updates. It's a good experience. Much nicer trip than the one out of Muskegon.

A great way to travel across the lake! We took the Badger from Ludington to Manitowoc, about a 4 hour ferry ride. Relaxing trip!! A great way to avoid Chicago!!! If you are taking a motorcycle, make sure you bring along tie-downs (as described on the Badger website). Be prepared to do a U-turn on deck to position your bike...it's... More

The Badger earned National Landmark Status this year, which is proudly painted on her seagate! We went on the two Manitowoc Shoreline Cruises and one round trip to Ludington. First of all, the food is very, very good. You can tell it's homemade. The Shoreline Cruises are a fun way to spend an afternoon out on the lake. There is... More

We put our RV on the ferry to avoid the traffic near Chicago and it was worth the money. In spite of 4-7 foot waves, we relaxed and enjoyed the ride. They provide entertainment in the form of bingo and movies, if one decides to participate. The ferry only departs once a day so you must plan your trip around... More
