Other than the Smithsonian, this museum has the most memorabilia in the country. The current postmaster took us on the tour, and you can tell that she has a passion for the history of the Post Office.

This is a museum in the basement of the Marshall post office. It is run by the ex-postmaster. It is very well organized and fascinating to see. It is open by appointment only, I called the day before and had an appointment for the next morning with no trouble at all. He is a real nice man and gave us... More

Great family outing. The amount and variety of things is incredible! This is all a labor of love for Mike, the curator. He's an amiable former postmaster who has amassed this amazing collection over the years, and he loves to show it to people. While the museum is open during post office hours, you do need to call Mike for... More

Okay, it was "free museum day" in Marshall when we last visited. We stopped by the U.S. Postal Museum. It's in the basement of the Marshall Post Office. There are uniforms, collections of post office boxes, postal clerk stations, vehicles, maps of P.O. coverage, vehicles, stamp collections with historical post marks. The marvelous thing about all this is that it... More

This museum is amazing! Great collection of all things postal, including stamps, equipment, vehicles, etc. And it's beautifully organized. The amazing thing about it is that it was all collected by one person. Truly worth a visit. You'll be amazed and delighted and educated!

I didn't think I would like it, but the collection is very large and unique, much more than I expected from a free museum tour. A must see if you are visiting Marshall Michigan.

I was dreading this tour. My husband loves to collect stamps, but that isn't that interesting to me either. We started the tour in an outside building behind the post office, and there were some vehicles in it that used to be used to deliver mail and one of which Mike, the tour guide and collector of all of this... My wife and I enjoyed a personalized tour by Mike Schragg's direction. Former Postmaster, he impressed us with passion for his occupation and service. Now expressed through the museum, his passion for the restoration and preservation of the artifacts and exhibits are truly noteworthy. I highly recommend this for anyones itinerary when visiting the area.
