Definitely a must see to go down into the mine. Amazing the conditions that people used to work in. Recommend taking flashlights as they are not provided with the tour. Lots of bats to see also. Make sure you take your coat

Okaaayyy.....so if you've never been in a mine you'll think it's pretty cool. You do get to see some slopes and adits and a car and tools, etc. However!! You may not know enough to think much about the safety issues. Last summer (2015) my family and I toured Adventure Mine in Greenland, MI....south of Keweenaw nearer the Porcupine Mountains.... More

This was our first visit to this mine (and our first tour of a copper mine). We watched a brief introductory video, then walked into the mine and around the surface structures. It was a self-guided tour, with little information about the history of the mine or the process of mining during the mine's active years. But the kids liked... More

Enjoyed the experience of going down into the mine. Don't go if you are claustrophobic and the steps are a bit steep, but otherwise it was interesting.

This is a self guided tour. You do need to watch the informational/safety video first. Make sure to dress warm, wear closed shoes. Very nice gift shop to visit after. Great fun for kids, but, there are about 100 steps down to the level you can walk through. Expect to get a tad wet, hard hats and rain coats provided.

This was a great 1 hour stop for us on our vacation. We were able to learn a lot more about the copper industry and how the copper was mined. Make sure you talk to the owner, and that he introduces you to his pets. That was the highlight of the day for our youngest girl.

My wife had trepidation about taking other guided mine tours. Since this mine tour was self-guided we were able to determine our own turn-around point. The above-ground structures were intriguing. And the opportunity to pet the owners' pet skunk was pretty cool. Say "hi" to Lucky and Oreo for us!

My wife and I along with our dog stopped here and took the self guided tour and enjoyed it very much. We found the proprietors to be very friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The tour is self guided and after a brief video you pick your hard hat and you are on your way. You descend into the mine via easy... More
