Veteran Memorial

This is an AWESOME park right off of Interstate 75. The park has a memorial, kid’s playground, sled hill, trail, and picnic area. At sunrise and sunset the helicopters look AWESOME.

Unique memorials and air craft

We really liked this park. In addition, to the memorials there were air craft. It's a quick stop, but our family liked seeing the combination.

Vietnam Vets Memorial

This is a nice little park with a Vietnam vets memorial. There are also two Vietnam era helicopters here along with some displays small monuments. A very nice park. Across from memorial is a playground. Park is well kept. Worth a visit if in the area.

Honors the fallen

One of teh few memorials for Vietnam veterans . . . informative to those that want to know more and the displays are worth seeing. We know the sister of the fallen warrior that the park is named for . . . definitely worth a visit

A moving experience

We were blown away by the moving memorials in this small but impactful park. Take the time to walk slowly and read all the memorials. Anyone who was alive in the US during the war will appreciate the thought provoking statements. Young people will learn about the horrors of war and why to beware of the military industrial complex.

The helicopters are cool

The helicopters are worth the stop to Heck park there is also a Vietnam war memorial that goes with the whirly-birds. When I was younger we played ball here they have made it more of a memorial park but that is nice and the Vietnam era veterans definitely deserve the recognition

Viet Nam Memorial Park

Beautiful park dedicated to our brave men and women who served in Nam, Must see park two Hugh y Helicopters and small Museum that is open a few days a week small play area for the little ones as well picnic area and sledding hill in the winter

Small park but powerful reminder

What the heck, had to stop in here. I didn't go to Nam but my brother was a Marine sniper there so I checked out the park and the memorial. It is named for a Captain Heck from Monroe, not for the fictional TV family on The Middle which your kids and grandkids are probably more familiar with than US history. Anyway, there is a small museum (closed on my visit), a playground, and paved paths that are great for strollers and wheelchairs. There are two helicopters, a mortar, and of course the solemn memorial.

Smallish park, but great Vietnam Vets Memorial!

The park is nice, but it's really the great Vietnam Vets Memorial that is fantastic. Lots of sights and monuments. Even an actual helicopter. Plenty of parking.
