Taumadhi Square is part of Bhaktapur Durbar Square. The tallest temple in Nepal named Nyatapola Temple is situated in this area. It is a gathering place for the locals and the tourists. Numbers of cafes are in the surroundings. The area portrays ancient culture and architectural establishments.

My favourite place in Bhaktapur! Absolutely stunning, a sensation of Asian experience in a place! I spent hours sitting on the top of Nyatapola Temple next to locals. Go there in the afternoon when most of the one-day-trip tourists have left!

Had a lot of fun shopping here, I had better deals than in Thamel, and they had items I haven't seen elsewhere at great prices, so definitely a shopper's haven!

Within the premises of Bhaktapur Durbar Square, with interesting architecture though damaged by earth quake. Worth a quick look.

This square is the upper part of Bhaktapur, and according to our guide, was the oldest settlement area of the Royal Family of Nepal. When the population grew and the space here started seeming small for the annual ceremonies and celebrations, they shifted to what is known as the main Bhaktapur Durbar Square today. The tallest old temple of Nepal... More

I prefer this to the Durbar Square. The Nyatapola temple is a beauty. This square is spacious and lively.

A busy square in Bhaktapur and thank god the impressive 5 storied pagoda still stands after the 2015 earthquake. It can use a little clean up though because plants and grass is growing from the roofs. Still great to soak up the special atmosphere.

I loved this bustling ancient square with its towering pagodas. It is also the focus of a busy local market, where people lay out their wares on the old worn pavement.

The whole of this gem called Bhaktapur is breaking with interesting buildings and squares nod this one is one of the best. Great all buildings in an atmospheric square with the impressive Nyaatapola Pagoda, the highest in the Kathmandu plateau. If you are in Bhaktapur don't miss it
