The Machapuchare Base Camp is an hour from ABC. The mountain dominates the entire trek along with Annapurna Ranges. A fantastic place to visit. Staying options are limited and the weather can turn bad in an instant. Despite this, the place is beautiful, majestic and an unparalleled view of the fishtail mountain. The trek though one of the most frequented... More

Machapuchare also known as Fishtail (6993m) may not be the highest peak out there yet its magic is like no other. I had close encounter with Fishtail during my Mardi Himal trek and it's the best thing ever. The beauty of this gigantic peak was exceptional and standing in front of it few meters away will really blow your mind.... More

Machapuchare also known as the fishtail mountain is popular and a beautiful mountain in Nepal. The fact that it looks slightly like the tail of a fish gives its other name. A Beautiful mountain.

Saw this mountain from our trekking to A.B.C. (see Annapurna region review) and it's the most stunning mountain to see! We stopped at the base camp for a coffee and the view is just amazing. Yuhina mentioned it's very hard to climb the peak however it's a sacred mountain so the peak can't be climbed!
