This is a beautiful and historic church and it is worth walking aaround in. But it is also worth walking up the narrow staircase to get up on the roof. The panoramic views of Leon and the surrounding volcanoes are not to be missed!

An amazing excursion around the roof of the cathedral, in socks or bare feet only. They won't let you take photos in the church, though .

As I have said in many of my reviews, I Love History! This place did not disappoint. I was surprised that I was not allowed to walk right in as you can in many cathedrals in US and Europe. After speaking to a man outside,...More

This Cathedral with it‘s roof was a very special experience! We felt like children because of the nice optics/views and walking barefoot up there (for sure behaved according the rules). Also the stunning scenery with the volcanos which seem to be far away but well...More

You have to take of your shoes so as not to make marks on the white roof or damage the ballustrades.
