Truly impressive collection of international and regional art. What a surprkse! While sering Basquait, Picasso, Rembrandt were all super cool, I really enjoyed seeing Alejandro Morales' work on Nicaraguan history (Specifically paintings of the 'legend of Gen. Sandino' series he did). Very cool.

As you enter, you will ask yourself..Where is everybody? We had the place to ourselves the entire time and although we loved the experience, we worried about the museum's sustainability. This is the best art exhibit we have seen in Nicaragua. It was wonderful to...More

Not only is there a wonderful collection of 16 & 17th century art, as well as other paintings, the building itself offers a glimpse of Spanish influence and décor. Inside courtyards and ponds (with turtles) provide a nice backdrop for all the art. I believe...More

Tranquil surroundings along colonnaded courtyards give a glimpse of 16th and 17th century painting, 20th and 21st century paintings and sculptures by Central-American artists, with emphasis of Nicaraguan names or names-to-be.

Very interesting collection of contemporanian Latin American art and religious art of the 16th century. The museum is housed in two very colonial style buildings with patios. Very good option to get out of the burning sun for while and enjoy some fine arts
