When visiting Leon, hiking volcano is a must. My friend and I didn't quite know what to expect when we decided to book the three hour hiking tour of a Cerro Negro with Jesus but we were blown away! He was easy to get a hold of from his website, great at keeping in touch leading up and prompt to... More

I can't stress how awesome he is. I was in Nicaragua for 26 hours and wanted to get a lot done. He made it happen. From picking you up to the airport, finding you a hostel, to showing you around Leon before getting on a horse and going up Telica. Speaks good English and knows the area very well. I... More

My husband and I booked a hike of Telica with guide Jesus Arauz through our lodging at Posada Fuente Castalia (also wonderful). After a quick drive and approx 2.5 hr hike (steep toward the end), we reached the crater--a really incredible view of both the crater and the other volcanos in the area. What made the experience so memorable was... More

I have used Jesus quite a few times for my clients that i send to any of the volcanoes in the Leon area. The comments have been great. I will highly recommend him for any adventure that you want while in Leon

Our family of 5 hiked Cerra Negro with Jesus in early April. His English is excellent and allowed us to talk in detail about Leon and Nicaragua. He is an exceptional guide. The hike up the volcano was tough and the thought of the slide down the volcano terrified me! But it ended up being an easy and fairly slow... More

We booked our Telica tour through our hostel (Bigfoot Hostel). Totally worth it! It was a sunset hike, so we left the hostel around 2:30, drove to a base camp and hiked up to the rim. We hiked around to the side of the volcano to catch the sunset, and then back to the opening to try to see some... More

We were really keen on doing a hike in Leon and heard good things about Quetzaltrekkers. They are a non profit organization run entirely by volunteers, after costs all the money goes to a great charity: children. They have all the gear you need available, provide meals, snacks and water and enthusiastic guides! Becca our guide, so young but with... More

The hike was intense, but once we were finally to the top eating dinner and watching the sun set it was totally worth it. It was gorgeous! After the sun set we went to the edge of the crater to view the lava. It was one of the highlights of my entire Nica trip. How often do you get to... More

We booked a City Tour of León through Lora Trips who connected us with Jesus from Telica Hiking Tours. The first day I showed up and I was sick. Since we had already booked and paid I decided to give it a try as we didn't want to lose our $. However, an hour in I was not seeing straight... More
