This museum is very well done with attractive, easy to read & view exhibits that flow in one general direction. It has an interesting introductory film and a well-informed staff. We learned a lot and we're glad we made it one of our destinations in the Upper Peninsula.

A wonderful museum about the mining industry in Michigan. A great film and lots of displays about a very hard job. Well done.

As a native of Michigan's Upper Peninsula I was eager to visit this museum about the iron ore industry which provided jobs for my family, friends and relatives. The museum is well laid out and chronicles the mining industry in the area.

This is an extremely well thought-out museum. Nice short trails with excellent information. Fun displays for all ages. See and learn about what it was like to mine and process iron. Worth every minute spent here.

This was a great stop on a rainy day during our camping trip to Michigamme. Very well-done exhibits, interesting film (only $1 for film) and beautiful outdoor trail areas. Very friendly too! Definitely worth a stop!

Excellent combination of the countries immigration history, an industry that has defined a region and a long mining heritage in my own family. As future generations begin to understand life without mining, the area grips tight to its industry pride.

You will enjoy the detailed history of the development of the Upper Peninsula when the immigrant miners came here to find a new life. The Iron Ranges were an integral part of modernizing America and helping with WWII. The iron was mined and used for automobiles and artillery. The museum has a state of the art film showing the struggles... More

Everyone I have taken here has loved it! The museum is able to take a subject matter that we were only mildly curious about and make it fascinating!

Museum is open all year. Tour started with a nice movie about the history of the iron ore industry in Negaunee, which is where iron ore was first discovered in Michigan. The museum has very nice displays. Allow a hour at least to see the museum.

Nice free museum in a park like setting. I would consider this a must do if you're in the Marquette area. Probably should be better advertised because we just stumbled across it on a rainy day.
