We recently bought a groupon for this place. I'm so glad we did! It is a lot bigger than our local botanical garden. There's so many trails. So my 13 year old was happy about that and the model train area (that is pretty big and very detailed) kept my 4 year old attention for over an hour(until we had... More

We love botanical gardens, so we went out of our way on a trip to stop here. We thought we were lost finding it. Don't let the gravel road dissuade you. It was very nice, if small. The workers were nice. The cafe served very good food. The map for the hike through the woods was inadequate (we got lost).... More

Beautiful gardens, clear creeks running next to quiet trails in the woods... The colourful prairie was the absolute highlight. This is one of the most beautiful parks I have visited. The front desk has free biscuits for visitor which were delicious! There was also mosquito repellant - not edible:-) - essential if you want to take a walk in the... More

I loved this botanical garden. I just stopped because I was a little early getting to my hotel. It was a very warm day but the gardens are full of benches and shaded areas. I only saw 2 others people the whole time I was there. I would highly recommend a stop here.

Today a group of us went to Fernwood for lunch. It was really excellent. We also spent time in the very unique gift shop where I really like to buy presents. We are Fernwood members so we visit often but usually our time is spent touring the gardens, going to plant sales, or attending seminars. It is a wonderful nature... More

It is a lovely place full of beautiful spots. Bring your walking shoes, camera and sunscreen or a hat. There is a lovely indoor space with a train that runs through it with some tropical plants. You can view them from a little balcony in the main building. Walking out into the garden proper is a little magical with the... More

Took a couple of friends from Thailand to the gardens. We had a fun time wandering around and taking pictures. I think our favorite place was the trains area. We spent a lot of time laughing and doing fun videos. I can't remember what the building was called but there was a place to go in and sit and observe... More
